The Small AI for Development Hackathon Challenge is an open innovation competition inviting young developers to create artificial intelligence solutions tailored to work in resource-constrained environments across developing economies. Participants will build targeted, use-case-driven "Small AI" solutions that function with limited connectivity and leverage accessible devices like basic phones or microcontrollers, addressing real development challenges in health, agriculture, or tourism.

Three winners (one per sector: Agriculture, Health, Tourism) will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Seoul to present their solutions at the Global AI and Digital Summit 2026, with potential facilitated meetings with investors and government officials.

Open to individuals and teams of up to 4 members, ages 18–35, across World Bank member countries (World Bank Group staff, consultants and interns are not eligible).
