Open Source GIS Tools and Geographic Data Prep and Visualization

  • 14th Floor Conference Room, UNICEF New York USA (map)

The interest and potential for geospatial visualization and analysis has grown in recent years and is an increasing priority at UNICEF. This work can be supported by the growth of open source tools for geospatial data. Please join us for a Q&A and discussion around geospatial visualization, facilitated by Allan Walker, an engineer at Mapbox working with Tableau and kepler.gl

Allan will demo open source collaborations that use geospatial data for humanitarian and development support, and will suggest ways to integrate UN data with open source GIS systems. Following the demos, we'll have an open conversation about the current geospatial work at UNICEF, areas of potential collaboration, as well as common challenges.

If you have an open source geospatial tool that you've been working on, there will be time at the end to share.
