80 Years of Data on Peace and Security

Welcome to IMU's UN 2.0 Side Event, taking place both virtually and **in-person** at UN Headquarters room S-1519. We look forward to your participation.   What can data tell us about the changing nature of peacekeeping and special political missions? This side event, with speakers from the UN explores the trends in fatalities and mandates across UN missions over time. Using insights from the Peace and Security Data Hub, the discussion will highlight how data reveals patterns, challenges, and opportunities for us to explore. Participants will also examine how timely and reliable data strengthens coordination, improves transparency, and enables smarter, evidence-based decisions across the peace and security pillar. Join us to explore how data is not just a tool—but a catalyst for change.   **This event is hybrid, in-person and virtual**. In-person participation is limited to people having a United Nations identification card. Seating is limited.
