The UN System Data Commons, developed as part of the UN80 Initiative, makes it easier to find and use publicly available data and statistics from across the United Nations system through a single platform. It is designed to give Member States and other users simpler access to trusted information to support evidence-informed policymaking, national planning and responses to interconnected global challenges.

The briefing opened with remarks by the Secretary-General, followed by strategic perspectives from the project co-leads and an interactive introduction to the platform, its main features and practical use cases.
