Innovation to Accelerate Progress for Women and Girls

UNFPA is reimagining the delivery of its programmes and spearheading innovative solutions to accelerate progress for women and girls, by disrupting inequalities and removing the barriers between women and girls and their rights and choices. The investments in new solutions pave the way towards the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals, and a world with zero unmet need for family planning, zero preventable maternal deaths, zero gender-based violence, and harmful practices. In that spirit, in December 2021 UNFPA introduced the Equalizer, UNFPA Innovation Accelerator Fund, to provide new funding and financing options exclusively to support innovations that are geared towards accelerating progress for women and girls. To further leverage new strategic opportunities around high-impact solutions linked with its mandate, UNFPA is convening a virtual, high-level roundtable on innovation with our partners, including the Member States, industry experts, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and global advocates. This high-level roundtable, hosted by the UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem, will provide a platform for an interactive dialogue with key thought leaders on innovative ways to remove the barriers between women and girls and their rights and choices.
