This virtual side event, held during UN 2.0 Week 2025, brought together innovators and practitioners from IOM to explore how anticipatory and resilient actions are transforming migration management. Anchored in IOM’s Strategic Plan (2024–2028) and the UN 2.0 Quintet of Change, the session showcased how the organization is applying data, innovation, and inclusive local partnerships, particularly with youth to shift from reactive to anticipatory approaches.
Featuring real-world case studies from Libya, Tanzania, and other regions, the session highlighted the operationalization of early warning systems, youth incubators, and digital solutions that enable communities to prepare for and respond to migration drivers before crises escalate. With a focus on cross-sectoral collaboration, migrant-centered design, and community-led innovation, the event inspired exchange across UN entities, government actors, and youth networks working to scale anticipatory action.
The session aligned closely with the UN 2.0 vision, providing a platform for forward-looking dialogue and sharing lessons on how data, systems thinking, and youth engagement can collectively build more resilient, future-ready migration solutions.
