This UNDP report draws on **26 completed Artificial Intelligence Landscape Assessments (AILA)** carried out between 2024 and 2026 to take a fresh look at what AI readiness means. - Argues that readiness needs to be understood differently once AI adoption is already underway - Treats readiness not only as preparation, but as a diagnostic tool for spotting emerging risks and dependencies - Identifies the capabilities countries need to steer AI adoption towards sustainable development goals - Covers both public systems and the wider AI ecosystem
